The State of Colorado has 58 named summits that rise 14,000 feet above sea level. This is the greatest concentrations of “Fourteeners” in the country. Starting on July 20th, 2013 we will attempt to complete all of the Colorado 14ers by walking from each peak to the next. The route is about 1,165 miles and will include roughly 285,000 ft of elevation gain. We’ll endeavor to lay down a ‘continuous set of footprints’ from Culebra Peak in the South to Longs Peak in the North, thus the description of “14ers thru hike”.
This site has been created to share some of the planning and to detail the attempt. We hope you will check back often to monitor our progress!
