We were both lucky to have childhoods and teen years that had plenty of outdoor experiences. We have both had life changing adventures in the great outdoors that we cherish greatly. That is part of the reason we were even able to attempt this trip, and why we are so happy to support Big City Mountaineers by making our trip a Summit For Someone fundraising event!
Big City Mountaineers can change the lives of under-served urban youth by engaging them in wilderness mentoring expeditions. They partner with community-based youth organizations and caring adult volunteers who act as mentors in the field to help young people realize their potential. These expeditions help these youths to improve their self-esteem, sense of personal responsibility, decision-making abilities and communication skills. Big City Mountaineers improves young peoples’ lives.
